This…is absolutely perfect. It’s like the perfect representation of how I’d expect the Anderson Family’s personalities to and relationships to be.
There’s Mr. Anderson, dominating and large. He doesn’t have his arms around any of them, no attempts at a compassionate gesture (beyond the easy, I-can-convince-you-to-do-anything grin), but his presence is very known.
There’s Mrs. Anderson, fake smile and tired eyes. She’s got her hands very obviously placed on Blaine’s shoulders, her hold on him is clear and deliberate.
There’s Cooper, he’s smiling but his smile is a little different than his parent’s. It’s a little easier, a little more genuine. He’s leaning back, distancing himself from his family a little, but he’s still ever so slightly touching his brother.
And then there’s Blaine. Small, held in place, and right in the middle of everything. Everything about him is different. While his father and brother wear dark jackets, plain ties, and a white shirt, Blaine wears a light colored jacket, a printed tie. He’s frowning, clearly uncomfortable. He clearly doesn’t belong here, he’s not one of them. He’s so different from them. But they don’t seem to care and just smile on, keeping up appearances.
The Anderson family clearly has a lot of secrets. I really want to know more about them.
…and yes, I’m aware I’m completely over-analyzing.
